The #1 Piece of Advice for Awkward People

Alright all you awkward people, listen up. I get it, being awkward sucks.

I could tell you all day long that you’ll grow out of it and over time you’ll become more confident, but I know how frustrating it can be waiting for change.

So in the meantime, here's my advice for you:

Don't let Awkwardness define you!

You are so much more than your awkwardness. I know it might feel like that’s all people see when they look at you, but it’s not. Don’t let your awkwardness consume you.

Awkward moments are just that, moments that happen. They’re not you. It’s something separate from who you are as a person.

Don't let it consume you. There are so many other awesome qualities about you to focus on. Just laugh off those awkward moments.

For more strategies on what to actually do in embarrassing situations, check out my brand new book It’s the Awkwardness for Me.

One of the tips from the book is to realize that awkwardness is a part of life, for everyone! There is no need to spend hours thinking about something totally embarrassing you did. Set a timer for 30 minutes, and once it goes off, MOVE ON!

There’s so much more to life you have to experience. Your awkwardness may be heightened right now, but don’t let it define you. Don’t let it consume you. There’s no need to take it so seriously.

Accept that it’s not who you really are, it’s just the way things are right now. Instead, hold on to the vision of your future self.

Before you know it, you’ll be that confident person you've always dreamed of being. 😊
