This has been Alex's favorite book in the past 10 years. It is all about the exploration of the meaning and purpose of the soul. We heard some insights inspired by this book today, including how to listen to your inner whisper. Spielberg briefly sums up the concept in this video:

How do you differentiate between self-doubt and your inner whisper?

The whisper is quiet and the self-doubt is loud. Doubt has had much more time to build up strength throughout your life, due to input from parents, coworkers, and society in general. It is extremely rare to be born with a loud inner voice. You must practice listening to your inner whisper so that over time it is easier to hear.

When you get rejected, how do you know if the world is telling you it's not meant to be or if it's just an obstacle you must overcome?

It can be difficult to know if your soul is trying to tell you something or if you are just experiencing natural obstacles on the correct path. If this is something you struggle with, try this 10 day bootcamp inspired by Naomi Levi's teachings. To better capture your experience, before and after the 10 days, write a one page journal entry of your current situation and how you feel.

10 Day Soul Bootcamp

Do all 5 actions every day.

1. Meditate

  • Do a 20 minute guided meditation (does not matter which one)

2. Music

  • Listen to at least one song without distraction or multitasking

3. Eating

  • Before you eat each meal, take 3 intentional breaths:

1 - Think of something you are grateful for related to where you are

2 - Have gratitude for the journey the food took to get to your plate

3 - Recognize an intention for what you want the food to do for you

4. Praying

  • Pray when you wake up to whomever you want to (God, universe, soul, etc.)

  • Say an intention for the day or even just give thanks

5. Nature

  • Spend 20 minutes a day outside or with nature (even your apartment plants)
