Do you ever feel stuck?
Like what you're working on isn't at all what you should be spending your time doing? Or you're trying to make progress on something but just can't seem to get the vision right?
I do. Because that's how I feel right now.
I've been writing a book for the past 2 years (note: it's finally published! view it here). Some of it has been writing, a lot of it has been thinking, most of it has been organizing and re-organizing.
It turns out the writing isn't actually the hardest part. Taking information from one person, sorting through it and packaging it up for someone else to read is the tough part.
I keep getting caught up in the organization. Should it be a book just of interviews? Or maybe I should choose 7 key lessons and right on those? Maybe just quotes? The structure of this book is freaking me out.
I keep choosing one, go for it, and then it doesn't feel right. It is frustrating.
I want to make progress, but I feel like I keep spinning in circles, going back to the drawing board.
I'm probably doing better than I give myself credit for, but I want something tangible. A book that has some rhyme and reason to it, that sounds good enough to share it to others. I just don't feel like I've gotten there yet.
If you're reading this and you've ever written a book, leave your thoughts below. I'd very much appreciate your insight as I continue to stumble through this process of writing my first book.
