Family Education Expo with Maeve Tedone (Springfield, MA)
Updated: Jun 27
This Saturday I had the privilege of attending the first Family Education Expo in Springfield, Massachusetts. Spearheaded by Jose Escribano, Chief of Family and Community Engagement for Springfield Public Schools, local organizations hosted a fun-filled event for the youth and parents of Springfield, MA.
At the event, there were colleges, mental health organizations, afterschool clubs, local businesses, and more awesome resources. Student and community music and dance groups performed throughout the day.
I had a table showcasing my three books: It's the Depression for Me, It's the Awkwardness for Me, and It's the Confidence for Me. They were a hit! Parents and kids alike were drawn to them and took them home to read. I heard a lot of people mention how needed this type of work is for our youth right now. I agree!
It was so fun to be there and interact with families in Springfield. Its encouraging to know that these books are connecting with a wide range of audiences: parents, teachers, mental health counselors, and of course, teenagers.
Have these books positively impacted you? Leave a review on Amazon, it helps other people find them!
Have one book, but not the others? Go get one of each copy so you're not missing out! And get some for your friends while you're at it! These books are reaching youth and helping parents have meaningful conversations with their kids.
What an honor it was to attend the Family Education Expo, looking forward to more events this summer that support youth social, emotional, and mental health!
